Audiobook

25 04 2012

Howdy Everyone!

I just wanted to give y’all an update for April.

Starwarden (Book 2)

I’m about half way through the first round of editing.

I’ve contacted my cover artist, and he’s working on the cover. I’ll post pictures as soon as I get some.

Now the really good news!

I’m working on getting a contract set up for an audiobook for the Zochtil! Once it comes out it will be available from Audible.com, Amazon.com and hopefully iTunes. I won’t give any more information than that until the contract is set in stone, but you’ll be happy with the narrator I’ve got lined up. He’s the best. I plan to have the audiobook finished up by the end of August, so not long after book 2 comes out.

Gunship: First Strike!

26 02 2012

For all of you who are into science fiction I’ve got a great new game to show you. Steve Wood is in the process of publishing a game called Gunship: First Strike! It is a tactical space combat game without the crazyiness of a hexagon board.

Box Cover

Not only does this game eliminate hexagon boards, but it also allows the players to customize their ship. The base box will come with three different weapons : Blaster Cannons, Ion Cannons, and Thruster Bombs. If you back the project now on kickstarter you will get receive the upgrades expansion. Which will come with Heavy Blaster Cannon, Bomb Bay, a Fighter Ace, and a handful of other cards. As a kickstarter supporter you will also receive the x-perimental weapons: Auto-Blaster Cannon, Weapons Generator, Ion Bombs, Deffense Turret, Homing Missile, and the Heavy Ion Cannon.

For more information check out Steve’s website or the kickstarter page for Gunship: First Strike!

Check out the awesome artwork!

Starwarden

15 02 2012

Just wanted to give y’all an update.

Book 2 in the Almek Manning series, the Starwarden is scheduled for release in June. I finished the second draft yesterday. I will spend the next month working on book three, at which point I will switch back to the Starwarden and begin the final editing process.

Sneak Peak at Book 2: The Starwarden

Part 1: The Academy

Part 2: Dalton Space Force

Part 3: The Starwarden

Also I pay tribute to Robert Heinlein again in this book. One of the ships that Almek Manning serves on is the Robert Anson Heinlein, a Fast Cruiser Carrier.

On another note, I am up to four reviews. I’ll post the fourth later.

This review is from: The Zochtil (Almek Manning Book 1) (Kindle Edition)

As a life-long fan of science fiction, I found “The Zochtil” to be a very entertaining. The characters are engaging and interesting. The story is a fast-paced, action-packed experience. Mr. Dalley weaves many new and intriguing sci-fi aspects into his tale. A great beginning to a sure to be thrilling series.

My Second Review

****

Great Talent

The Zochtil is the debut novel of J.A. Dalley and is a great read. From start to finish Dalley keeps you pulled into the story, wanting to know what’s coming next.
Although he credits this as a Military Sci-Fi, I believe anyone will enjoy this great book. I can’t wait to read his sequels, and maybe a prequel.

The Zochtil finally reaches Barnes and Noble

My book, the Zochtil, is now available at Barnes and Noble’s website! The link has been added to the Get the Books tab and can also be found below.

First Review

Review by: Samuel Peck on Jan. 03, 2012 : star star star star star
I loved the book. The battles in the book are full of variety, from a legal battle, to a simulated space battle, to a violent infiltration of a marine base. Each has its own intensity and stakes involved, and all are well narrated.

If a book doesn’t teach you something, either something that’s definitely true or something to consider, I personally don’t think it’s a good book. The author of this book didn’t write the book with an agenda, but slips in several things that we can learn from, or at least think about. Some of them are political. Some are about human nature, or other subjects.
